Internet access

Internet Policy Highlights

60 Minute Time Limit Per User, Per Day.

Valid ID (Library Card or Driver's License) Required.

Children under 16 years old require a parent's signature before going on-line.

E-Mail is available to Patrons through free Web E-mail services, such as, Hotmail & Yahoo.

No Files may be Downloaded to the hard drive.

Complete Internet policies and regulations may be obtained at the library.

Computer Use Regulations

These rules apply to all the public access units in the library

 

1. Potential users must be at least 5 (five) years old.

2. Children under 16 who wish to use the Internet must have the Internet policy agreement signed by a parent prior to going online.

3. All workstation users must register at the desk and leave a valid form of identification (library card, drivers license) prior to using the workstations.

4. To prevent viruses that are common on PCs, patrons are limited to using library software and may not load their own software into the library PCs.

5. Patrons are not allowed to save any document to the hard drive. Patrons must bring in their own disk on which to save their work.

6. Because of limited staffing, library personnel are not required to provide extended assistance to workstation users.

7. A maximum of two (2) people may use any PC at one time.

8. Patrons are asked to limited their computer time to 60 minutes per session as a courtesy to others who may be waiting to use the PC's.

9. Blank diskettes are available at a cost of one dollar ($1.00)

10.  To minimize ink cartridge replacement and as a courtesy to others (who may need to print), we ask that you limit your print outs to 15 pages per session.

11.  All printing jobs must be completed 10 minutes before closing.

12.  Patrons using the computers are financially responsible for any damage to the workstations.  Parents or guardians of children using the computers will be held responsible for any damage to the workstations by your children.

13. Printouts are available at .10 per page.   (Please pay at the desk upon completion of your session).

14.  The library reserves the right to deny future usage of our workstations to any individual(s) who fail to adhere to these regulations.
