City Not Selected for "Friday
Night Lights"
Rhode Island School Chosen
The city of Lincoln Rhode Island won the Friday Night
Lights competition sponsored by radio station
WEEI and
NorthEast-Eagle Electrical Distributors, and they will be receiving new
football lights for The Rear Football Field at Lincoln High School.
Derby was
one of 14 New England towns in the running for the lights. Schools
selected for the competition earned one entry in the drawing for each
100 votes received. Derby earned 12 entries, and we want to thank
everyone who voted for Derby. We also want to pass along a special
thanks to Ron Slowik who headed up Derby's bid. Lincoln had 14 entries
in the final drawing, but Grafton, MA had the most chances by far with
99!
